Oh goodness.....Its Friday!!

Hi! I can't believe I made it through this week I am so proud! I had a fun night last night with my puppy :) Just look at that girl! Can you tell she isn't supposed to be on my couch?



She is so funny. I also got to do a little crafting for myself last night! I altered a couple of t-shirts. This is the one I wore to work this morning, it has ribbon and a button on it :)

I am really into just cutting the neckline off of t-shirts and sewing up the sides so they aren't too big. And somehow I have aquired quite a few ribbons and other detailing decorations! I love making something new out of something I have basically disgarded. It is fun! I think I am going to alter a few other things this weekend so I have a new fun wardrobe to work with. Since it has been super hot this week in the Bay Area, I think I need some new short sleeve shirts!

Meet Ames! He loves drawing silly cartoons to make his friends laugh. He also loves playing the banjo, reading comics, and brushing his teeth.

This weekend is set for a *lot* of sewing, being outside, and all around hanging out with my boy and my dog! I love three day weekends, they are what dreams are made of :) Ryan has been painting the past few days and it is so exciting! He has a couple of new pieces that he is working on that I can't wait for him to finish so I can show them off!!

I survived!

Hey! I survived my CT scan, which is always good news :) I had no idea what a horrible process that would be or I would have been much more hesitant to go. :) I am the worst when it comes to the doctor, it scares me and I am the horrible type of person that would rathar pretend you don't feel pain than to go to the doctor. Finally my boyfriend yelled that I had to make this appointment, so I went. They make you drink *2* huge(ok maybe big) bottles of grossness so they can have whatever show up on the screen. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, they stick you and shove an IV in your arm and put weird stuff in your body that makes you feel like very hot and like you peed yourself. Very strange indeed. Now let's hope there is nothing wrong with me! :)

On a sort of better note, I tried to make myself a camera bag with my last zipper last night and I miscalculated *just* slightly so the adorable little bag that I made for myself, even including a little layer of quilt batting for extra protection, is now in my shop here.



I was really excited about it too, I love this fabric. Now I have to pick out some other fabric for *my* bag.

Meet Barclay! He is a silly owl! He loves playing practical jokes on his friends. He especially loves whoopee cusions! Barcklay also enjoys rollerskating, ice cream cones, and pancakes.

This weekend I can't wait to go get some fabric for my little camera bag. I also have some other little projects in mind!!

Hot!

It is getting *hot* here in the Bay Area! I rode Bart(public transportation train thing that goes under the bay) and I think they had the heat on. I thought I was going to die. :) Other than that, the weather is beautiful and summery and I love it!

Even with the heat, I am seriously already getting stoked for Halloween this year for some reason. I usually don't like it. I think it is because of all the great decorations that are out there. I was at Michael's and I had to fight myself not to buy anything because there was so much cute stuff! I am telling you though, Saturday is September and I am letting myself choose a couple of things to buy so I can decorate :)

Last night was lovely, Ryan had class late, he is taking a "Night Painting" class and so he is going to be gone most of Tuesday and Thursday nights. I am excited for him because he hasn't been traditionally painting much lately and this will definitely give him an opportunity. I can't wait to see what he makes!! So, while he was gone, I sewed and sewed and sewed :) I got a few things done!

Meet Toby! He loves drawing in his sketchbook, writing short stories, and making smores. His favorite drawing to make is of skunks. He really likes to read books about skunks and tell everyone facts about them

Tonight, I have more sewing on my agenda and then going to bed early. I have to get up *really* early for a CT scan tomorrow(I have been having some nerve pain), I am nervous, wish me luck!!

Tuesday!

Hey kids! I am so excited that the week is moving along. It has already been a very challenging week for many reasons. First it is back to school time, so Ryan has a completely new schedule which means changing around our routine of picking up/dropping off with only one car, that gets hard when our schedules are now so different. This is going to be a tough year for Ryan, the last year of his Masters degree! I can't believe time is going by so fast. Also, I am going through some reorg changes at work which leaves me uncertain and lost sometimes. It is definitely a challenge.

But....I did get a super sweet package in the mail yesterday! Ryan and my buttons came!!!



We have been waiting on pins and needles for these and they came! We are super excited about them! Here are mine:

Meet Grayson! He is a hoot! This owl loves to go skateboarding, play checkers, and build cities and cars out of the boxes that appliances come in! His favorite part about building the cities is paiting and coloring the boxes. He has lots of friends come and play with him!

Tonight, I have some sewing to do, and some cutting for a secret project for someone special. :)

Hey all! Happy Day! I hope you had a nice weekend! Mine was great, my lovely boyfriend is back from his trip to visit his cousin in Florida and I am so happy! He even came bearing gifts!



That flamingo box is so cool! I love flamingoes so much and the neatest part about it is that his aunt painted it! I think that is so cool! He also brought me tons of shells and a rock shaped like a heart. My boyfriend is the best :)

G.M.(short for Grant Marlon). Really he is named that because my boyfried said that when he worked at G.M.(general motors) the robots were green. :)

Just wanted to say....

When I moved to California last year, I was uncertain of a lot of things in my life. I was uncertain that moving across the country with my boyfriend would work out(it's good so far!). I was uncertain I would find a job(I did) I was uncertain of myself. I thought that I wasn't particularly good at anything, and I really did not have anything that I *loved* to do. Sure, I was "crafty"(my boyfriend *hates* when people say that to me, I think its funny) but I wasn't good at anything. This made me sad. I really longed to have something that was mine. Something I could nurture and get skilled at and enjoy. I really found that when I started making toys. For some reason, I don't have a hard time making my visions exactly how I want them to come out. I am *happy* to come home and sew. Sure, as with everything, I have my good days and my bad days. I have designs that don't work out, and all of that,but I really enjoy my toys and I have come to realize that a few other people do too! That tickles me to no end. :)

I am nearing 100(one away actually) sales on etsy. I am in awe of that. I can't believe that I make things now that actually *speak* to people. It makes me all misty. :D When I started my little shop on etsy a year ago, I didn't know what was going to happen with it. I look back at what I was making in the beginning and can't believe the difference I have made in a year. I can't wait to see where I am a year from now.

This year has actually done wonders for me, my self confidence, and my relationship. I really feel like I have come a long way from the frightened girl that drove her a little over a year ago. I thank my lucky stars every day that I found that site. It has given me confidence to even be in shows! I had Bazaar Bizarre(which I hope to do again in December) and also Plush You in October. It is amazing to me how far I have come.

After all of that craziness, if you are still reading this, I am going to do a giveaway!! I love you guys so much! I am going to send a special fun package to one of you :) It is going to be a suprise pack and I can't wait to give it out!

How much fun is it to run through the semi wilderness of a dog park overlooking the San Francisco Bay? How awesome is it to get to play with your puppy when you can see the skyline of SF and the Golden Gate Bridge? Pretty neat, I will say that. We had lots of fun yesterday playing in the park. I love taking her to an off leash park because she looks like she thinks she is a wild dog and it is cute :) AND she leaves me alone in the middle of the night :)

The photo is a little more blurry than I would have liked but my camera would not focus for this cuteness! But I couldn't wait to score one of her little animals and this little owl-y was *so* cute I couldn't pass it up! She is amazingly talented!

After we came home from the park, I made some dinner, worked out, and then sewed a new Robot! I love him so much! His name is Roald.



I seem to be in a blue phase right now. A lot of the stuffies I am making are blue for some reason :) I am lonely maybe that is why. My boyfriend comes home in a couple of days. Even if he was mean to me on the phone yesterday. You know, I think if you are having fun on vacation on a beach and your girlfriend is stuck at your house taking care of it *and* your dog, stuck going to her mundane, boring job, maybe you would have some more compassion and be nice to her for the 10 minutes you have to talk to her because maybe she is a little jealous and lonely. But you know, that might be too hard, and it might be frustrating for you and take time out of your fun filled week. But who am I to complain...

Hi!

Ahhh the week goes on.... I am really pretty boring this week. Last night I got home from work, played with my pup, made dinner and worked out. After that madness, I got a robot and an owl cut out. I also put the finishing touches on this lovely owl:



I named him Haben. :)

Right now, I am working on my Christmas list(for other people) I started this tradition for myself of making presents for everyone, which can be hard I know, and stressful, but I get to start my Christmas thinking in August, which makes my Christmas season about 5 months long and that is ok with me! I am still in the planning stages, so don't think I am *that* crazy. It is just important to me to make my gifts, I feel like it puts more of my heart into the present. I hope the recepients agree.

I am also thinking about decorating for fall/Halloween. I saw some *really* cute things at Michaels and I think I am going to pick out some stuff this weekend. I didn't decorate for any holiday except Christmas last year and I wish I would have. It makes everything so festive! I love being festive :)

Only a few more days till Ryan comes home, I can't wait! I miss him like crazy. I could never be with someone who goes away all the time I don't think. I really like having him around. :) I think up for tonight is sewing and also I am going to take the pup to the Marina after work.

Lazy days...

Baby Dog and I kept it low key yesterday. I did, however, take her to the very lovely Berkeley Marina and let her off of the leash to run around like a crazy dog. I think that is her very favorite thing to do. I was happy with that decision too, because last night I had a full night's sleep, a whole night without my lovely dog whining every hour or so to go out. It was nice. I am ready for Ryan to come home though. I just feel more happy with him around. He is a great boyfriend. Plus, I am stuck cleaning up after myself which is not fun at all :) And...I watch *way* too much T.V. without him. I am still deciding what to do tonight after work, I think it would be fun to take her out again, but I did have to push everything back to do that and I didn't get to work on my sewing.

Meet Sheldon! He loves to do anything relating to being hot! He loves to cook lots of meals(especially pizza), bake(especially cherry pie), and fix car engines! He also loves to read stories and relax with his friends

He was made this during this weekend's super productivity. I don't know, I guess I will decide during the day. I did enjoy my sleep so....we will see :)

Robot Fever!

So, I had a long day of super productivity yesterday! I was very excited. With Ryan gone, I am free to watch bad t.v., bad movies and hang out all day :) I acutally set my sewing machine up at our coffee table(a bit uncomfortable, but workable), rented two really girly movies and set to work. I finished up my Plush You submissions, and they are going to be mailed out tomorrow!

Oh, in case you were wondering, the movies were "Because I said so", which I only rented because of Diane Keaton, which I actually liked :) I am such a weird-o. I also rented the Banger Sisters which I didn't really like, I thought it was forced. It was silly too. Then of course I watched some Rock of Love(I can't help it) and The Two Cory's(I said I can't help it) and then went to bed. I did sew a lot and get a lot done :)

I actually didn't sleep well at all last night, I woke up a hundred times and the dog wanted to go out twice in the middle of the night. I hate waking up in the middle of the night. I do much better when Ryan is here and I miss him bunches already. I still have a bunch of days to go. Ugh I just counted it, 5 more nights to go. That sucks. I am totally taking Baby dog for a walk today so she burns off some of her energy. She drove me crazy last night!!

Happy Sunday guys! I am here in my lonliness...Acutally I feel pretty good. MY lovely boyfriend is in Florida, sitting on the beach, having fun with his cousin. Good for him. I am busy watching Sabrina the teenage witch and being productive! I finished from tags for my stuffies! They are going to be put on my Plush You submissions :)

Hey kids! Ryan and I went shopping for some pants for him last night, ended up with nothing. Very exciting. I didn't ride my creative wave that I felt when leaving work last night. Fell asleep really early on the floor. Grrr. Ryan is leaving Saturday for Florida, I am hoping to use my time to myself wisely. Probably going to paint and sew and go to Blockbuster and rent some fun movies. Baby and I are going to try and go for a couple walks and all of that. I am going to miss my lovely boy but whatever, it will be fine I am sure.

Oh, My best friend started a super fun blog and I want you to go see it.

Oh goodness....I really need that weekend to come and stay for awhile! Its another early morning for me! I have noticed that my energy levels at night are so low with an early morning start time for me. I really need to sleep past dark time! It is just something I struggle with. When I get up really early, it seems like all I want to do in the evening is snuggle and watch tv. Then I feel lazy and mad at myself. I *really* like to sew and it disappoints me when I let other things in my life affect my work and my home time. That just isn't fair. It makes me sad. And it sucks when Ryan is drawing and I am playing Dr. Mario. Just so you know, that game sucks the life out of you :) So last night, all I got to do was cut out this guy, who I think is going to be a Plush You piece. He is going to be dressed up like a cowboy. I am thinking the mustache is going to be removable and the star will be a pin. He wants to play dress up!



I think he is going to be cute. I hope I don't struggle tonight when I get home. I really just want my body to do what my mind wants to do. It is frustrating when it doesn't. Especially because what I do all day long at work is daydream about the wonderful fun things I am going to do when I get home. Does anyone else struggle with this? Please tell me I am not the only one!!

Really, I think I am going to take myself to the fabric store tonight for a tiny little pick me up. I am good, I usually only spend about $10. I really want to make some more dolls, but it probably won't be good if I send all dolls to Plush You, I do make other things, you know. I am thinking I am going to send an owl too, so it will be this otter guy, my Mabel doll, and an owl. I have not being decided. I am also trying to get my ideas together for my Christmas stuff, I am thinking some cute little laminated ornaments for my shop and maybe some tags and bookmarks so I have some little things too.

Also, I am so excited to be approaching the 100 items sold mark at Etsy. It makes me feel very good that a year ago, I was just a crafter without a place to display myself. I am so proud of my accomplishments and can't believe that I have almost sold 100 things!

Early Mornings are not for me....and a few other fun facts :)

Hey kids! Here I am, an early bird *again* today! Today wasn't so hard to get up though, I did manage to fall asleep on the couch at 10 again :) Sometimes you just have to though, I think! I am hoping to get a nap today when I get home so I won't fall asleep so early.

I didn't get any work done :*( But I did get a super awesome package in the mail from the wonderful Danielleorama! We did a trade in which I sent my bright pink owl, Horus, to her and she sent me this lovely little guy, Huckleberry! You can see he fits right in, guarding my dvds against all who would want to steal them:



She also included some super fun extras! I was so excited! Here is a paper tree that grew crystal leaves! It was so neat!:



and of course some super rad fabric and a cute little license plate from Ohio, my old state which I miss:



I can't wait to use that fabric its so cool!

Ok, I feel like giving you 10 random facts about myself(that I am thinking of right now):

1. My favorite place to go is Florida for some reason. It is beach-y and hot and humid. Those are all things I love

2. I actually miss the snow. Don't tell anyone. I didn't think it was possible. But I don't miss the traffic because of snow or having to deal with actual snow. I miss the idea of snow.

3. I miss thunderstorms. It might sprinkle here or occasionally rain(I haven't seen that in awhile) but it doesn't thunderstorm with lightning and thunder. I think I might have to go to Ohio for a weekend or so in the fall so I can have that fun stuff :)

4. I am now a blog-a-holic. I read about a million of them during the course of my day. I have been reading everyones posts for the fall and winter of last year because that is what I miss so much. They also are inspiring a lot of my present ideas for this year!

5. I am going to make my Halloween costume this year, I am so excited. I am trying to decide between a muse and a medievil costume. I found some great patterns.

6. I have been planning things to do when Ryan is gone. I think I am going to shop a lot(Ikea here I come) and sew a lot. And I would *love* to come to Santa Cruz! Danielle you could show me the really cool parts! I have only been to the Boardwalk.

7. My brother just got engaged when he was in California, and I can't wait for their wedding. I *love* weddings. They are so fun. And I am really looking forward to being in it!

8. I really like my boyfriend's family. I love to hear about his nieces and nephews. Come on people if you read this, call us, we miss you!!

9. I am trying to decide what I want to do with myself. I am thinking about looking into school to be an elementary school teacher or an illustrator. I really would love to be a full time plushie maker :)

10. I really want to write a children's book. It sounds hard though. :) I love to write little scenarios for my toys, I think I could write a little book. I would *love* to write like Beverly Cleary. My very favorite book of all time is Ramona Quimby, Age 8. That is the best book I have ever read. I got it for a present when I was 5 or something. No book has stuck with me the way that one has. In fact, I think on my break today, I am taking a trip to B. Dalton book sellers for some Ramona buying fun. You know there is a bunch of those books. I also think all girls should read that book. It is tons of fun.

Ok that is enough about me right now. What is going on with you?

Oh My Goodness. Am I awake? I had the pleasure of waking up at the lovely 5:45am so I could work at 7:30am. Yuck. I am soooo sleepy. All that is keeping me holding on is a mixture of coffee and the promise of a nap tonight :) It is going to be a *long* day. How about you?

I got a little owl made last night, it was relaxing to make him and I enjoyed it.
His name is Ichabod.



Meet Ichabod! He is one snuggly little owl. His favorite season is fall. He loves the colors and especially the change in season. Ichabod loves to go on nature walks and pick apples. He makes a mean apple pie that makes the house smell divine!

So, Ryan is going to go to Florida for about a week. I am going to go crazy by myself! I am so jealous. I want to sit by the ocean in actual heat and find shells while he sits in the cold San Francisco weather and be alone. He better bring me a nice present.

Hey guys! Be prepared for a lot of pictures this post! I got only a couple of things done, but I am super excited about what I *did* get done :)Ryan worked Saturday and Sunday this weekend so I got to sew, mostly on Sunday. Saturday I had to grocery shop and pick him up from work and all of that craziness.

So I got only one thing done for Plush You, I have named her Mabel, after that Goldfinger song, and her bunny's name is Jermaine.

I did a lot of cooking this weekend too! I made banana bread which came out so yummy!
I also made potato salad from scratch without directions, and I think it came out very good! I spent some nice, needed time to myself with my sewing machine and my Shirley Temple movies. Did I tell you I loved Shirley Temple? She is fun to sew to :)
I hope your weekend was fun, I hope your week is starting out great too! It was a good sign this morning, the sun was shining early for the first time in weeks here! Yippee :)

WIP Friday....

I got absolutely nothing done last night unless you call falling asleep on the couch at 10pm productive... I did work out which I am happy about so at least my night wasn't a total loss :)

Here is my work in progress for today, you can tell I got really far on it, I didn't even pull the fabric off of the shelf :/



Thank goodness Ryan is working this weekend, it will give me time to work on some stuff without putting it off. I did however manage to cut little squares of fabric so I could show you some of the colors for this doll. Too bad the felt square looks orange cause its bright red. Must be my silly scanner.

I have sort of big plans for this weekend. I want to get some gocco screens and ink so I can make tags for my toys. I also need to get that plush you stuff together and work on my MyMy stuff. I plan on being productive, hopefully there isn't anything too good on Lifetime.....

Sigh.....

Hi! how is your Thursday going? Mine is good so far! I can't believe how fast this week is going by! I had a fun night last night, more relaxing with my boy and my puppy. They are so funny. I love having them around! Look at what my weird dog did, although now, I suppose I can call her my monkey:



I brought that banana to work to have for a snack and forgot about it. When I was taking it out of my bag to add to my other 2 that I am going to make into banana bread, this crazy girl took it out of my hand and started chewing on the outside. When she got to the inside though, she put it down. It made me giggle :) I don't know why she didn't like the taste, I used to feed her banana chips(the dried bananas) as a snack in Toledo. She used to love those!

I have also been jumping on my trampoline as exercise in the evenings and lifting weights a couple of nights a week. It feels so good to start doing some exercising even for a half an hour a night. I feel more energized after I do it and I don't feel like my dinner is just sitting in my tummy. It is awesome!

I also worked on an owl last night, I named him Casper:



He is a neat owl. He loves to take pictures, and he is a budding photographer. His favorite thing to take pictures of is bridges and water. He once had a picture published in Time Magazine. It was an advertisement for a car. He was paid 8 million dollars for it.

I am going to work on my little demon girl tonight and maybe another owl. I can't wait to get home, I am going to make stuffed shells and maybe some banana bread! I love banana bread MMMMMMM! Have a great day!

ahh...

So I have been hella relaxing lately, which I am not sure how I feel about that. We have been watching a lot of t.v.(bad lauren!)but I have also been getting work done so I am not *too* worried. I need to start making my Christmas present plans more concrete(I know, I know its still really early but I need to make everything, well you know, you guys are craft-y) But, for now, I did get some drawings done, I like to draw. I was drawing a little and watching Rob and Big on MTV(they are so funny!)

So I am working on some button designs so I can get some buttons made:



I am not sure how many of those I am going to use cause I told Ryan he could use a couple of designs(you can have up to 10)I am going to go through someone on etsy, kittycrossbones because her work looks good to me :) So...I am really excited about having buttons :) They are cute and fun.

I also got this lovely snow owl done, his name is Silas:



He is a very neat snowy owl! He loves to do arts and crafts. His favorite thing to make is furniture. He likes to make couches and tables in the shape of animals. His favorite thing he has made is an end table in the shape of his favorite dog, a dachshund. Silas also loves to use glue and popsicle sticks to make cities to play with. He pretends he is a giant and stomps on them.

I also was drawing just for fun and I made this Robot. I may or may not make him a plushie if I feel like it. :)



I think he is fun, and I can invision the squiggles on his tummy being ric rac :) and the sparkly kind too! :) I love robots. I love plushies. I love drawing.

I hope everyone is having a fun Wednesday! I can't believe we are 1/2 way done with the week already. It is good cause this weekend I have to work on an order that is going to MyMy Art and Craft I am sooo excited my stuff is going to be there! Also I have to finish my pieces for Plush You which I am also super excited about!

Hi! Happy Tuesday! I am sitting here on another dreary San Francisco day :( I am hoping the fog will go away but it hasn't for a few days. I don't think its helping my lovely boyfriend and dog. They are experiencing weird allergy-ness! Baby is very itchy, we gave her a bath(oh man such an experience) and she is feeling a little better but you can tell she is still itchy:



At least she is clean. :) Ryan is all snuffly too and we all have been sleepy tired. Hmm maybe just that time of year :) We even took a long nap yesterday. It was nice. It is definitely one of my favorite things to do, cuddle up with my quilt and my boy and just sleep. :)

I also got a little owl sewn last night, his name is Paulo:



He is a very smart owl. He loves to read, paint by the numbers and do math problems. You can usually find him snuggled in a quilt, book in hand reading to his heart's content. His favorite thing to read is the telephone book.

I am really liking sewing these, they come together so quick and easy and they are a perfect snuggle size :)

hi! and 8 things about me...

Hi! Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a nice weekend. I had a very relaxing/organizing weekend. I felt very productive. First, Ryan donated some shelves to my very messy cause, and I now have an actual organized space! No more just piling stuff up cause I want to keep it, it now all has its own place!



errr...don't look under the desk. That is my next project. Maybe.

I also got a few things sewn! I was excited about that...

my lovely new monster, Minnerva, she is sort of a vampire:



Meet Minnerva! She is one cool Monster! Minnerva loves staying up late, hanging out outside in the dark and flying. She also dedicates her time to baking snickerdoodle cookies and learning to sew her own clothes. Her favorite color is purple.

I also worked on an Owl, Horus:



Meet Horus! He is one silly owl. He once tried to cross the street by filling up 500 baloons and tying them to a chair. He forgot he could just fly :) Horus loves to eat bagels, coffee cake and oatmeal chocolate cookies. He also likes to spend time with his friends and snuggle.

1. I am a terrible hypochondriac. I love to tell my boyfriend I don't feel good and he *always* rolls his eyes at me. (rightly so)

2. I absolutely love Wintergreen Lifesavers. They are my favorite candy ever. They always make me feel better.

3. I can't tell you my favorite color. I never want to commit. I think it might be purple, green, red, and brown.

4. I love Monty Python and the quest for the holy grail, but no other Monty Python movies. I think its because when I was a little girl, my mom used to quote it and laugh and laugh. It makes me remember how funny my mom is :)

5. I always want to buy glitter, but I don't know what I would use it for. I think its because of my messy nature. I love to make a mess.

6. I am really sleepy right now because I just went to the doctor and they removed 5 giant viles of blood from my body. Forgive all of my spelling errors, I believe I am falling asleep right as we speak.

7. I really like my boyfriend. I love him too but I really like him. Even after living with him for over a year. I especially like that he cleans up after me and my aforementioned mess :) I like to play Dr. Mario on the nintendo with him. He lets me win cause he is sweet. His name is Ryan.

8. I don't have any friends right now(in my area to hang out with). I feel a lot like a hermit :)

Oh yeah, that is why I live in California!

Did I tell you how much I love the ocean? Well, its an awful lot! When my brother was here, we went to Ocean Beach in San Francisco. We were all super cold but my brother wanted to put his toes in the Pacific so he did. When he did that, it made me *really* want to put mine in too!



And as crazy as it sounds, dipping my toes in the Pacific, which is a *super* cold ocean, made me warmer! I had so much fun running in and away from the waves. I highly recommend living near the ocean. It makes you feel so alive!

I also went to Telegraph Hill when my brother was here, where we got to see the famous Parrots of Telegraph Hill! The story goes something like some Conures(red headed parrot birds)escaped/were let go from their homes and they actually survived and started a colony! There are tons of these birds flying around and it is so weird when you are used to looking up to see sparrows or sea gulls and you actually see a bunch of bright green birds with red heads flying above you. It is neat let me tell you. I got a picture, but the birds are small and you have to look hard. Do you see them in the tops of the trees?!?!?



And...In sewing news, I actually got a bunch of sewing done last night! Which is good but weird because I had to get up really early this morning to come into work and of course that is the night I feel productive. As a side note, Ryan went to an art show and I stayed home so I could go to bed early(soooo didn't happen)and when he came home, at 2:30am mind you, he woke me up to tell me how much fun he had. I think I got a total of 4 hours of sleep last night. I am feeling like a zombie monster.

Speaking of monsters, I got mine finished last night. Please tell me what you think, I am very excited about her, but I am biased.



In the spirit of working my streak of sewing, I created an owl pattern and went for it, I am super happy with the results. I named him Octavius:



Meet Octavius! He is one fun owl! He loves going to art shows, drinking hot chocolate with whipped cream, and baking bread. He also loves to sew quilts that he gives to friends or puts in his quilt collection that he likes to snuggle under.

I love purple :)

Ahhhh.....Stuffed monsters!

Hey guys! Happy Thursday to you! I am doing great today! I got to work on something that is very exciting to me! Lately I have had *lots* of ideas so I am feeling really motivated, but when I get home from work, I have a hard time fitting all of the stuff I need to do(make & eat dinner, clean up, sew, relax, pay attention to my dog, learn to knit..etc) in the small amount of time I have before bed. It has been sort of frustrating for me because I feel so motivated all day and then so tired at night. So last night, fighting my eyes from closing I worked on a new project! I didn't know if I wanted to share it yet, because I don't know if I am going to list in my etsy store right away, but I am just too excited about it :)

I was working on some sketches at work(where I get most of my ideas right now!) and I drew these little ladies that I am just super in love with:



A little bride of Frankenstein, a little devil girl, and a little vamp/bat girly! I can't wait to work on all of them, but last night, I got my little Frankenstein-y lady started and I am *super* happy with how her little head came out:



When I get her all finished, I will have a better picture of all of her hair and such. This was *so* much fun to work on, as I love love love monsters :)I mean, who doesn't?

I also finished my special order pig, I haven't named her yet, but that will come soon. I love the batik fabric! It is so fun.



I am hoping to work some more on my doll tonight and then who knows, maybe relax a little? Play some Dr. Mario with my love? Maybe pet my dog?

hey! Its August?!?!?

I can't believe how fast time is going! It is *August*! I am stuck in a not-feeling-so-good-so-I'm-being-lazy rut. :( I don't know what it is, but after I work all day and then go home and make dinner, I am finding my energy levels have been really low. AND...I am having icky back pains. I feel like being cozy with my blanket and snuggling with my pup and my boy. It is not fun. I want to sew! I have been cutting fabric to sew at least :)



Special orders make me smile :) Now if I can just add a needle, some thread, and some polyfil, we would be good to go. I am hoping tonight will be good for me :) I think I am going to make this weekend crafty focused and even try to get some drawings done! I also have some ideas for some holiday-ish stuff I am going to work on and I am going to try and put those on paper.
